FAQ's

1. What are the costs of owning a holiday home?

Our prices are all inclusive and include the mobile home, delivery & installation. We also connect the home to the services, test all appliances and have the gas boiler safety inspected by a registered professional. There are no hidden extras!

2. What are the ongoing yearly charges?

You have an ongoing yearly contract with the leisure park with site fees varying from €1780 depending on which park you choose. This covers the cost of the park maintenance & the use of the shared facilities.

Electricity meters - On some parks this is included in the emplacement fees and others have individual electricity metres so you only pay for your usage.

Gas - Is charged separately and supplied via bottles. Remember the homes are fitted with energy saving boilers so usage is at a minimum.

Insurance - Is compulsory on all sites and all inclusive group policies start from as little as €165 per year.

Taxes - There are no council taxes or local property rates, however you will pay a national tourist tax. This small fee is paid annually and normally based on the individual home, approximately €50 per year.

3. How long can my home stay on site?

You have a yearly contract with the park owner which ensures the homes are kept in good working order. As long as you respect the local environment the leisure parks are happy to renew your contract on an on going basis. Modern mobile homes are constructed to last for decades and some parks have no age restrictions.

4. Can I live in the home as a permanent address?

The simple answer is no. The leisure parks are vacation centres typically closed for a few winter months. Outside of these dates you are welcome to use your home when ever you want. However you cannot class the home as a permanent address.

5. Can I sub-let my home & earn some extra income.

Yes. Each park has its own rental policy and can provide a letting service. Private lets are allowed on some parks; however arrangements have to be in place prior to accepting personal bookings. Getaway Holiday Homes can also offer a letting service via its holiday management company Getaway2france on certain holiday parks.

6. What happens if I want to sell my holiday home?

Circumstances change & you may find in the future years you have to part company with your holiday home in France. For this reason you need the peace of mind of being able to sell your home on. There are several ways either via the Getaway resale service, privately or via the individual leisure park.

7. In future years can I move my mobile home?

Again Yes. As the name suggests your home is mobile and can be transported to another region of France. After meeting your contractual agreements with the holiday park you are at liberty to move your holiday home. Getaway Holiday Homes offers a transportation service throughout Europe and are able to assist in the re location process.

8. Investment Opportunity?

Where as the home it self will not increase in value you will have access to years of enjoyment. With the option of sub letting your home when not in use, you can contribute towards your on going costs. With no solicitor involvement or legal fees owning a mobile home is a true low cost solution to home ownership in France. What’s more sit back and relax while someone else maintains your immediate environment as all holiday parks are tended on your behalf.
